Hey, how's it goin'?
This week was pretty exciting! I got to baptize Tag this Sunday and wow was that stressful. It took a lot of planning and coordination to get everything to work out. On Thursday we had the district leader and his companion come out and go on exchanges with us. We went out to Denison and tracted for a couple hours, but we didn't have much success. We managed to pass out a few cards about Jesus Christ's birth as part of the Christmas campaign the church is doing. After that we traveled to Tag's house and met his family. They are all from Sudan. It was hard to understand most of what they said but they seemed excited about Tag's baptism. Our district leader interviewed Tag and we set off. We spent a lot of time the days that followed trying to arrange for the baptism. I could tell that satan was trying to keep it from happening. We didn't receive much support from our ward in scheduling the baptism but as my companion and I made all the arrangements (which were many) things started to fall into place. The Sunday came around and we got the font filled up and we had the baptismal service. Tag was very excited and now he is set to be confirmed next week! In all of the craziness of the baptism on Sunday, we almost forgot that we had an appointment with the Jaeckels, but we were able to rush over there and make it on time. I challenged them to work on having a time set apart every week to get together and have an evening together as a family and to pray to know what we taught was true. The only obstacle between those wonderful people and baptism is church and I know that as they come together as a family to will come to find out just how important the gospel is in their lives and just what they have been missing! I hope everything is going well where you guys are!
With firm conviction,
Elder Adair
