Week #50 - Mitchell Branch South Dakota

This week was really awesome! We taught someone this week and he agreed to be baptized in about a month! We showed him the gospel library application and by the time we got home from our lesson, he had read 4 chapters. He has read 4 chapters each day since we talked to him! He came to church on Sunday and this week at our next lesson we will be introducing him to our Branch President! It is amazing to see how the Holy Ghost moves on people when they are sincerely searching for truth!

Another miracle happened this week! We went out to visit someone and to teach them a lesson and they weren't home. We got in the car and were about to drive off when I had the thought to knock the door across the street. My first thought was "this is a terrible idea they probably aren't home and if they are, what is the chance they will accept the gospel?", but I brushed it off and we got out of the car and knocked the door. The door was answered by a man in his twenties who didn't look very interested. After speaking to him for 3 minutes or so he told us that he didn't want to talk to us and closed the door. Feeling a bit discouraged, we turned and headed back to the car when, to our surprise, we found the person we were looking for pulling into their driveway! We taught her a quick lesson and she gave us her number and invited us to come back at a later time! I am reminded by this experience that the Lord's ways are higher than our ways and that the ways in which he works can rarely be anticipated beforehand and that as a consequence our relationship with the holy ghost becomes increasingly crucial in our ability to serve as missionaries! Everything is going great in this area! I know that the people here have a lot of potential and that God sent me here to help them to recognize their true identity as children of their heavenly father!
