Woooooooooow! I am in such a rush this week! This day has been so crazy! Please forgive me if this is short!
So we have been working on using public transportation because our President only has one car in this area and it is causing lots of problems with transportation. We have a couple of bikes that were donated we just fixed but our area is still a little big for bikes and they still have problems riding long distances. We had a move today (for the other elders in our ward) and my companion needed to have a haircut so things have been really really tight time-wise. So we went to the Temple this week and that was an awesome experience also we had a huge training on missionary work for our stake that was really supportive of missionaries and motivational to me. To summarize my week we spent most of our time tracting and returning to former investigators from past missionaries. We found a few investigators and have taught a few people. Things have been crazy difficult because of the amount of work and logistics I have had to put in to make anything work out. My companion also has been one of the most difficult I have been with my entire mission and it has been a bit of a struggle to be unified. It all makes me think of the refiners fire. I was reading in the Book of Mormon today and I came across this verse:
Nevertheless, Jacob, my firstborn in the wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.
I was thinking back on my studies writing this letter and if I liken this scripture (as Nephi talks about in 1 Nephi 19:23) and put my name in the place of Jacobs the Lord seems to comfort me like this:
Nevertheless, [Elder Adair], ... thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.
I know that all my trials and struggle will be for my gain and that even when my workload seems to heavy to bear the Lord is still by my side helping me every step of the way.
With firm conviction,
Elder Adair
