Week #78 - Mahoney Ward Lincoln NE

Good afternoon everyone!

This week has been fantastic! We received an announcement this past week regarding our schedule change for missionaries worldwide! Our schedule is now much more flexible and we have a lot more choice in how each day plays out. We are adjusting still but it makes more sense the more we use it. This past week we met two new people who we will be teaching, Their names are Katie and John. Katie is someone who we met about a month ago but without a phone number we haven't gotten back in until this week. John is a referral from our bishop. He told us to stop by an check up on him to see how he is doing and we started teaching him the gospel. He is completely open to our message but he may have trouble having real intent because he doesn't want to do more than learn about our church. Hopefully the Lord will soften his heart and he will recognize that our message is worth changing his life. Elder Arbuckle and I are doing well! My birthday is coming up in less than 3 weeks! I can't believe I am almost 20!!!! life passes really fast! So I had a really funny experience this past week! Elder Arbuckle is much more receptive to tracting and so we have been doing it more and more. This week we were out knocking doors during our hardest time to fill (8pm to 9pm) and we talked to a couple of people. After about a half hour of tracting, we were talking with someone on the doorstep when a police car rolled down the street. We finished talking and as we were walking down the street the police car stopped and a woman got out and walked over to us and asked us if we were out committing any crimes. I said "No, but we are sharing a message all about our Savior Jesus Christ" and handed her a card. She graciously accepted the card and got back into her car and drove away. I didn't really think about what I had did until afterwards, but I realized that that is the first time I have ever given a card to a police officer and I hardly hesitated! Hopefully I won't be giving another card to any more police officers anytime soon, but it is cool to see the mysterious ways the Lord works to bring the gospel into our lives!
