Week #91 - McCook Nebraska

This week has been filled with meetings and lots of driving and snow! It has been crazy! We had to go out to our zone training in Kearney, Nebraska and we had interviews with our mission president. Later, we had stake conference and we went out to Kearney again with a member to the adult session and listened to a member of the quorum of the 70. On sunday we watched the broadcast of the sunday session for stake conference in our church building and right after it finished we went outside and there was about 2-3 inches of snow everywhere! We got a little over six inches of snow over the next few hours and were snowed in for the day!

We found 3 new people to teach this week! The first one, Sonja, we found after an appointment fell through with Kris (another one of our recent new investigators) and then the following day we had our appointment fall through with Sonja and we taught another guy walking down the street named Tim! We invited him to be baptized when he knows this church is true and said yes! Later that evening we were early to an appointment and began knocking on random houses and met a lady named Mary! She told us that she has already read the Book of Mormon and was excommunicated from the catholic church because she did research into it and told her priest that according to her research it was false. We are going to be teaching her tomorrow and I am exctied!

My companion and I have been working on having better studies in the mornings and we have been going through the Book of Mormon reading 1 verse at a time and pulling out teachings that can be found in each one and then asking why Heavenly Father wants us personally to know it and why he our investigators to know it! My invitation to you all is to open to a random scripture in the book of mormon and try studying one scripture in depth! Read it and then decide what Heavenly Father is trying to teach you and why he wants you to learn that principle, then, kneel down in prayer and ask what he wants you to change based on what you have learned! Heavenly Father want's to help us in our lives and studying and praying about the book of mormon is his sure way he has taught us to receive answers to questions in our lives!
